The Church is True

Hey family!

That waiter you guys met, is he the same one Grandpa and Grandma met? That's so cool! What a coincidence that he lived in Kronum! Yeah we hear about all Africa news all the time. It's always warring up there. But it has to end soon so the church can go there! I predict not too many more years will pass before it's opened for missionary service. Maybe even less than 15 years. That's just based on my own opinion on the growth of the church in the future haha.

This really happened! When the temple in Accra was under renovations, they were going to take the angel Moroni off to clean or something, and a rainbow appeared around it! Lots of people saw it. This picture was on the billboard at the Asokwa chapel

As I read the Book of Mormon I have the same thoughts as you. And it's not only the political things they faced that are similar, but even the religious ones. Especially here in Ghana. Priestcraft is the BIGGEST and most popular thing ever. Remember the first guy Alma faced in the book of Alma? Nehor? Imagine having 1000000 Nehor's running around screaming out on street corners, establishing churches in every building, collecting money 3 times each service. That's what we face in Ghana. Very difficult. That's why the most important thing for our investigators to do is COME TO CHURCH AND SEE. When they come they always have a hundred questions like, "why don't you collect our money?" "why don't you play drums and dance?" "Why is everyone equal and the rich aren't in special seats?"  But it only is effective once they see for themselves a church like that even exists. They are always confused about how the bishop has a day job but yet is presiding. The church is true you guys. The church is true.

Items from my week:

- Here's a picture of my beef stew.  It's like sloppy joe stuff. Don't worry, the oven is clean now (no rat droppings :) )

-Broke my watch that I came with. Only the band broke, but I don't see any way to get a new band here in Ghana. I am now wearing a different watch I had bought from a missionary a longggg time ago.

-We worked harder than ever this week, and finally reached the mission standard of 25 lessons per week! But we still have yet to see the fruits of our labors....

-Sunday morning on our way to church a teenager started talking to us, saying, "hey. You guys need to come teach us about Jesus at our house. You should come teach us about family and things. Like how parents should love their children ya know? See you later." Later in the day, we had free time, so we decided to just go see that family. When we got there we found that they are are a Christian family, and their son went away to school and made bad friends.  The family had just moved to the area a month ago to help their son and didn't know anyone, so we told them about the member family that was next door (the ward mission leader's family), and that they had a son about his age that would be a great friend that could help him. I'll let you guys know what happens.

That's all though guys! Thanks for everything!

Love you very much.
