"Best Two Years?"

Elder Gagne was able to Skype (videocam) with us today in honor of Mother's Day.  We were so glad to see him in person and hear about all the wonderful things he is doing.  He has been transferred to Kronum in the Kumasi region.  He is happy about that because more than than likely he will be staying in Kumasi after they split the mission.  Even more happy because he has hot water now, tiled floors and an oven.  He bought a portable washing machine and he's excited about that.

Kronum Apartment
He has three new roomates (Elder Thomson from Nigeria and Elder Kato from Uganda) and a new companion (Elder Sesay from Sierra Leone).  He was excited because Elder Kato was making him dinner tonight.  Maybe he'll learn some African cooking :).

His nose is sunburned and he said it's like that often.  Mom, of course, "encouraged" him to start using sunscreen.

He talked a lot about his recent converts from his last area and was so excited that they are doing well.  He mentioned he is learning patience for the children there.  They follow the white missionaries, and chant "Bruni"(brew-nee) (white man) over and over everytime they see them.

He shared the "Book of Wisdom" that he is creating.  We got to see where he is putting many of his thoughts and learned knowledge from the scriptures all drawn into timelines, ideas, and organized structures.  It's a beautiful book. very colorful and vivid.

He shared his notes that he makes when he studies the scriptures.  A lot of deep questions and interesting thoughts.

He is getting into the real football (soccer) scene there and is a fan of the Chelsea Team who are in the championships.

Brazil Jersey
He bought a Brazil jersey to wear in honor of his friend Elder Blanchard who is currently serving a mission in Brazil.

He wanted to let Elder DeMarco know, who is serving a mission in Fresno, California, that he wrote him a letter, he should be getting it soon.

We asked him, "so... do you think it will be the best two years of your life?". He said "No, it'll be the best two years FOR my life".
